Heading to the Goldie for Australia Day? Lucky you! (And us).
We’ve gathered a list of our favourite local happenings on the Gold Coast for the annual January 26th celebration, and hope to welcome you to one of our fabulous holiday rentals for the long weekend.
Australia Day 2017 on the Gold Coast
So where does everyone celebrate Australia Day on the Gold Coast? Where else but the fabulous beaches, of course! Pack your eskies and sunscreen, and head out for a day of summertime celebrations (and libations) at Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach, Burleigh Beach, Burleigh Hill, Tallebudgera Creek, Currumbin Creek, Rainbow Bay and more.
For those looking for a few more activities to enjoy, we recommend hitting Southport’s Broadwater Parklands from 4pm to 8pm for food trucks, live entertainment from local musicians, fireworks, and a special ‘Sporting Zone’ with activities from the Gold Coast Suns, Gold Coast Titans and Queensland Cricket. Heyo!
Also in the area, head to Southport Yacht Club from 12pm to 4pm for raffles, best dressed prizes, and lunch at their waterfront location. Book early, as this will most likely fill up quickly!
If surfing’s your thing, you won’t want to miss the 4 day Burleigh Pro World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS), happening January 26th to the 29th. Head to Burleigh Hill to enjoy some epic views and some seriously talented surfers!
See you soon, Gold Coast. Happy Straya Day!
